Cancer and Blood Specialists of Arizona (CBSA), a prominent community oncology practice affiliated with the American Oncology Network (AON – OTCQX: AONC), has announced the addition of Dr. Ronak Rakesh Shah, DO, to its physician team. Dr. Shah, a board-certified medical oncologist and hematologist, is now accepting patients at the Casa Grande clinic, enhancing the practice’s commitment to providing comprehensive cancer care.
Dr. Shah brings a wealth of experience and expertise to CBSA. He earned his medical degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, followed by a residency at McLaren Macomb Hospital. He further honed his skills during a fellowship in hematology and oncology at Larkin Community Hospital, an affiliate of Nova Southeastern University in Hialeah, Florida.
Expressing his enthusiasm about joining CBSA, Dr. Shah stated, “I am excited to join the physician team at Cancer and Blood Specialists of Arizona. CBSA is known for providing innovative and exceptional patient-centered care – the kind that I pride myself on delivering – and I can’t wait to collaborate with the like-minded team.”
With Dr. Shah’s arrival, the CBSA team now comprises two medical oncologists, a radiation oncologist, a general surgeon, and three advanced practice providers across two locations in Arizona. This diverse team is dedicated to delivering holistic cancer care based on cutting-edge research and evidence-based medicine. Patients at CBSA benefit from a wide array of services that encompass diagnosis, treatment options, clinical trials, survivorship programs, and patient support—all conveniently located to minimize travel burdens.
Dr. Carlos E. Arce-Lara, a fellow medical oncologist and hematologist at CBSA, expressed his excitement about Dr. Shah’s addition: “He is extraordinarily knowledgeable and committed to delivering top-notch patient-first care, which will further enhance our ability to offer an exceptional patient experience here in Arizona.”
The American Oncology Network also welcomed Dr. Shah into its network. Stephen “Fred” Divers, MD, AON’s chief medical officer, remarked on Dr. Shah’s impressive background and expressed confidence in the benefits his expertise will bring to both patients and the broader healthcare team.
AON is dedicated to ensuring the long-term viability of community oncology practices through innovative healthcare solutions that improve patient outcomes while reducing costs. Founded in 2018, AON has rapidly expanded its network to include over 290 providers across 21 states. The organization emphasizes value-based care and provides its physicians with essential tools for independent practice success.
