A small company listed on Nasdaq recently told investors it holds about $378 million in assets, spread across artificial intelligence, digital identity tokens, and the creator economy. Eightco Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: ORBS) disclosed the breakdown in an announcement today. The announcement drew attention because few public companies structure their balance sheets this way, and because the holdings tie directly to some of the most talked about names in technology today.

The largest single piece of the portfolio is an indirect stake in OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT. Eightco holds about $90 million in special purpose vehicles that give it exposure to equity in OpenAI’s parent company. This represents roughly 24% of the treasury. OpenAI has more than one billion active users across its models and recently filed a confidential registration statement that could lead to an initial public offering, though no timeline has been set.

The second major holding is in Worldcoin, a cryptocurrency tied to a global digital identity network called World. Eightco owns nearly 302 million WLD tokens, which equals about 8.4% of the circulating supply and roughly 25% of its treasury assets. World uses physical devices called Orbs to verify that users are unique humans, not bots or AI agents. Applications then pay fees for these verifications, while the World protocol and credential issuers earn revenue from the activity.

Eightco also holds $18 million in equity of Beast Industries, the company behind MrBeast, who has more than 500 million followers across platforms and is the most-watched person on YouTube. This stake makes up about 5% of the treasury. The company says that as artificial intelligence makes content creation easier, distribution and audience trust become more valuable, which is why it invested in Beast.

The rest of the portfolio includes 16,278 Ethereum tokens, a $1 million investment in Mythical Games, and about $142 million in cash and stablecoins. Together these round out the $378 million total.

The disclosure came as major financial firms including BlackRock, Fidelity, Goldman Sachs, and SoFi urged Congress to pass the Clarity Act, a bill that would set clearer rules for digital assets. Eightco’s board member Tom Lee told CNBC that the U.S. risks falling behind other regions that are moving faster on crypto regulation, and that clearer rules would help protect investors and give companies certainty.

The structure means Eightco’s stock price will move with the value of its treasury holdings, which are subject to volatility in private company valuations and crypto prices. The company warns that markdowns on its OpenAI, WLD, or Beast positions could reduce the value of its assets, and that regulatory changes could affect the adoption of digital identity or AI technologies.

The company’s approach reflects a broader shift in how some public firms are thinking about treasury management, moving beyond cash and short-term securities into assets that align with long-term technology themes. Eightco’s mix of OpenAI exposure, Worldcoin tokens, and creator economy equity gives investors a way to participate in artificial intelligence and digital identity trends through a listed vehicle, even as the underlying assets carry risks that differ from traditional balance sheet holdings. For those watching how capital markets adapt to new asset classes, Eightco’s treasury offers a real-time case study in what happens when a public company ties its value to the growth of AI and human verification networks.
