Goliath Resources Connects Bonanza and Golden Gate with New Zone

In the rugged mountains of northwestern British Columbia, a small exploration company has added another piece to its growing gold puzzle. Goliath Resources Limited (OTCQX: GOTRF TSX-V: GOT) announced that a drill hole at its Surebet Discovery intersected 26.80 grams of gold per tonne over 2.30 meters, within a broader interval of 14.28 g/t Au over 4.32 meters. The hole, labeled GD-26-462, targeted a newly recognized volcanic unit the company calls the Wedge Zone, which appears to link two previously known high-grade areas named Bonanza and Golden Gate.

The Golden Triangle is a mining district with a reputation for rich gold and silver deposits, stretching across the Boundary Ranges near the Alaska border. Over the past decade, several operators have reported substantial resources in the region, drawn by favorable geology and improving infrastructure. For readers new to the area, think of it as a remote but geologically active belt where volcanic and sedimentary rocks have been folded and faulted in ways that can concentrate precious metals. Goliath’s Golddigger Property sits within this district, and the Surebet Discovery represents the company’s most advanced target to date.

What makes this announcement stand out is not just the grade, but the way the mineralization is being connected across the property. The company stated that drill holes GD-26-425 and GD-26-462 together mark the presence of the Wedge Zone on both the western and northeastern edges of the system, suggesting a continuous mineralized domain that remains open for expansion. With this interpretation, the known mineralized footprint at Surebet grew by 12% to 2.01 square kilometers, according to the company’s press release. That kind of lateral growth matters for an explorer because it increases the area where future drilling could define a formal resource.

The drilling campaign itself is substantial. Goliath noted that roughly 50,000 meters of drilling are underway using seven rigs, a pace that allows the team to test both depth and strike extensions while filling in gaps between known zones. For a project at this stage, the goal is to establish enough continuity and grade consistency to support eventual resource modeling. The Wedge Zone results add a new structural element to that picture, sitting between Bonanza and Golden Gate and potentially serving as a bridge that ties higher-grade cores together.

Beyond the drill intercepts, the company shared metallurgical test results that could influence how ore might be processed in the future. Laboratory work on representative samples showed gold recoveries of 92.2% and silver recoveries of 86.5% using a combination of gravity concentration and flotation, without relying on cyanide. Cyanide has long been the standard reagent for extracting gold from ore, but it carries environmental and permitting complexities that can raise costs and extend timelines. A flowsheet that achieves high recovery without cyanide could simplify future development, provided the results hold up across a larger set of samples and scales.

The combination of step-out drilling that expands a discovery and metallurgy that points to lower-complexity processing is noteworthy. High-grade intercepts help build confidence in the quality of the deposit, while favorable recovery data can improve the economic profile of a project long before a formal resource estimate is published. Goliath’s focus on the Surebet Discovery within its 100% owned Golddigger Property aligns with that approach, using a multi-rig program to define both geometry and metallurgical character in parallel.

The company’s website describes Goliath as an explorer of precious metals projects in the Golden Triangle, with Surebet as its flagship target. Today’s news release does not include a resource estimate, which is typical for a project still in an aggressive drilling phase. Instead, the emphasis is on expanding the footprint, testing new zones like the Wedge, and generating data that can feed into future technical studies.

As drilling continues, the next milestones to watch will include additional assays from the Wedge Zone, further definition of the connections between Bonanza, Golden Gate, and surrounding structures, and any updates on metallurgical variability across the deposit. For now, the data suggest that Goliath is building a more complete picture of Surebet, one that combines high-grade intercepts with processing options that could reduce future permitting and operational hurdles.
