Amaero Ltd (ASX: 3DA, OTCQX: AMROF), a Tennessee-based producer of high-value refractory and titanium alloy powders, has signed a five-year exclusive supply and development agreement with Titomic Limited (ASX: TTT) to supply spherical powders for use in Titomic’s proprietary cold spray technology. This collaboration aims to bolster defense, aerospace, and space manufacturing by combining Amaero’s advanced powder production with Titomic’s expertise in cold spray coatings and near-net-shape manufacturing.
The partnership addresses a critical capability challenge in advanced manufacturing supply chains within the United States. Amaero’s powders will enable Titomic’s cold spray processes to create mission-critical components such as titanium pressure vessels, domes, and thermal protection systems. With rising priorities to enhance domestic manufacturing resilience and reduce reliance on foreign sources, this agreement aligns with recent U.S. government initiatives encouraging reshoring and sovereign supply chain development.
Cold spray technology differs from traditional additive manufacturing by depositing metal powders at high velocity to coat or build parts without melting the material. This requires consistent, high-quality spherical powders that Amaero specializes in producing through cutting-edge gas atomization techniques. The collaboration will see both companies jointly develop new refractory and titanium alloy powders, with Amaero responsible for production and Titomic focusing on applying their cold spray technology to manufacture coatings and components.
Amaero’s CEO Hank J. Holland emphasized the thoughtfulness behind selecting strategic partners, highlighting Titomic’s leadership in advancing cold spray adoption for coatings and mission-critical part production. Holland underlined Amaero’s commitment to addressing national security and sovereign manufacturing challenges by investing in capabilities that enhance U.S.-based advanced manufacturing supply chains.
Titomic CEO and Managing Director Jim Simpson echoed this, stressing the importance of having a reliable, resilient source of spherical powders to meet the demands of defense contractors. He noted that the ability to use the same powders for both development and full-scale production strengthens confidence in supply chain continuity and product performance. Simpson outlined a phased approach to qualifying powders based on market opportunities, ensuring developments translate to scalable production programs.
The five-year deal grants Amaero exclusivity as Titomic’s supplier of spherical refractory and titanium alloy powders unless Amaero fails to certify an alloy within 12 months or under other specified conditions. Amaero has also agreed not to collaborate on development with some of Titomic’s competitors, although it can sell powders to those companies. The pricing structure for the powders is linked to the cost of feedstock materials plus a set markup, with price reviews scheduled biannually.
This agreement is estimated to contribute between 5% and 10% of Amaero’s revenues for fiscal year 2026, indicating a meaningful step toward commercial growth for both companies. The deal dovetails with broader trends in advanced manufacturing aimed at scaling production throughput and increasing the adoption of new manufacturing modalities like cold spray, laser powder bed fusion, and powder metallurgy hot isostatic pressing (PM-HIP). The regulatory backdrop includes a 2025 national emergency declaration by President Trump, which underscores the importance of reshoring manufacturing capabilities and strengthening domestic supply chains as a matter of national security and economic strategy. This partnership effectively responds to that call by fostering a responsive, domestic source of high-performance powders essential for emerging and critical manufacturing technologies.
Amaero, with its headquarters and manufacturing base in Tennessee, has invested in proprietary atomization technology capable of producing high-purity powders at scale. It also leads in PM-HIP manufacturing, producing large near-net-shape components with properties rivaling traditional forgings. These technical capabilities complement Titomic’s patented cold spray process that enables low-temperature, additive manufacturing and repair solutions.
