Li-FT Power Ltd. (TSXV: LIFT, OTCQX: LIFFF, FSE: WS0) has reached a key milestone with the completion of the first full year of its environmental baseline studies for the Yellowknife Lithium Project in Northwest Territories, Canada. This initial phase is a critical foundation for advancing the project through permitting and mine planning stages, reflecting the company’s commitment to responsible resource development.
The 2025 Environmental Baseline Studies Program involved gathering comprehensive data on seasonal environmental conditions around the project site. Conducted primarily between April and September, the program covered aquatic, atmospheric, terrestrial, and human environments near known pegmatite dykes and future infrastructure sites. Monthly field surveys examined water quality, fish habitats, noise, air quality, vegetation, soils, wildlife, and traditional land use, combining scientific methods with Indigenous knowledge to ensure a profile of current conditions. These data sets not only guide permitting requirements such as Environmental Assessment but also feed directly into economic studies and mine design efforts.
Det’on Cho Environmental, an Indigenous-owned environmental services firm affiliated with the Yellowknives Dene First Nation, led the studies under Li-FT’s direction. The collaboration illustrates a growing trend toward integrating local Indigenous expertise in resource development projects. The firm’s involvement, alongside ongoing engagement with Indigenous communities and regulatory authorities, helps shape a research program that is culturally informed and scientifically rigorous.
April Hayward, Chief Sustainability Officer of Li-FT Power, highlighted the significance of this achievement. “The safe and successful completion of our first full year of seasonal environmental baseline data collection is a significant achievement and an important milestone for the Project. This work will provide the foundation for informed, responsible decision-making as we continue to advance the Project through mine planning, economic studies, and Environmental Assessment. We are grateful for the ongoing support of our Indigenous partners and remain committed to working closely and collaboratively with local communities and regulatory agencies to ensure we gather the data and information we need to support responsible development.”
The baseline data build on previous years of work, as well as extensive historical environmental records from a region with a long history of mineral exploration and mining. This cumulative approach not only strengthens regulatory filings but also enhances the company’s understanding of the land’s characteristics and the potential environmental impact of future operations.
Outside of the environmental progress, Li-FT recently signed a media services contract with Freedom Financial Research, LLC to enhance investor engagement through marketing services including social media and digital content distribution. The company will make a one-time $100,000 payment for these services, which underscore its efforts to maintain transparency and active communication with stakeholders.
Li-FT Power’s exploration efforts center on lithium pegmatite projects in Canada, primarily the Yellowknife Lithium Project, with additional early-stage properties in Quebec and the Northwest Territories. As the global demand for lithium continues to grow, projects like Yellowknife are gaining attention for their potential to supply critical minerals for battery technologies.
With this foundational environmental data in hand, Li-FT is positioned to meet the rigorous requirements needed to move the Yellowknife project closer to production while maintaining a responsible development approach. The completion of the first year’s studies signals a forward step that will help ensure the company meets both regulatory and community expectations as it advances its mining ambitions.
