Loncor Gold Reports Promising Drill Results at Adumbi Deposit

Loncor Gold Inc. (TSX: LN; OTCQX: LONCF; FSE: LO5) has announced significant gold intersections from its ongoing drilling program at the Adumbi deposit, part of its Imbo Project in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). The results, particularly from borehole LADD028, highlight the potential for expanding the resource base at this already substantial deposit.

The standout findings from borehole LADD028 include:

  • 13.92 metres grading 6.01 g/t gold, including a higher-grade section of 7.94 metres grading 9.54 g/t gold.
  • A remarkable 0.87 metres grading 82.97 g/t gold.
  • Additional intersections such as 7.40 metres grading 1.49 g/t gold and 2.19 metres grading 1.96 g/t gold.

These results were obtained at a vertical depth of approximately 290 metres below the surface and within the USD1,600/oz open pit shell previously delineated for the Adumbi deposit.

The Adumbi deposit hosts an indicated mineral resource of 1.88 million ounces of gold (28.185 million tonnes grading 2.08 g/t Au) and an inferred resource of 1.78 million ounces (20.83 million tonnes grading 2.65 g/t Au). The mineralization is associated with interbedded banded ironstone formations (BIF), quartz carbonate, and schist units, with higher-grade zones found in strongly altered siliceous sections where structural deformation has enhanced gold concentration.

Gold is primarily associated with disseminated sulphides, including pyrite, pyrrhotite, and arsenopyrite, within a thick package of up to 130 metres.

John Barker, CEO of Loncor Gold, expressed optimism about the results:
“This drill hole underscores the geological continuity and high-grade potential of the Adumbi deposit. The findings not only confirm mineralization within the open pit shell but also point to opportunities for expanding resources below it, moving us closer to establishing Adumbi as a Tier 1 project.”

To ensure accuracy and reliability, drill cores were sampled at one-metre intervals and processed at Loncor’s on-site facility. The samples were then analyzed by SGS Laboratory in Mwanza, Tanzania, using fire assay methods. As part of the quality control process, internationally recognized standards, blanks, and duplicates were inserted into sample batches. This comprehensive approach to sampling and analysis helps maintain the integrity and trustworthiness of the results obtained from the drill core samples.

Loncor continues to focus on increasing the resource base at Adumbi through deeper drilling below the current open pit shell. The company aims to advance this project toward its goal of a Tier 1 status with over five million ounces of gold resources.

Loncor Gold Inc. is a Canadian exploration company operating in the Ngayu Greenstone Belt in northeastern DRC. With over two decades of experience in the region, Loncor’s flagship Imbo Project includes the Adumbi deposit and two neighboring deposits with combined inferred resources of approximately 2.09 million ounces of gold.

As exploration progresses, Loncor is looking to unlock further value from one of Africa’s most promising gold belts.
