NevGold Corp. (TSXV:NAU, OTCQX:NAUFF, FRA:5E50) has reached a pivotal moment in its development trajectory with the recent approval of its Plan of Operations (PoO) permit for the Limousine Butte Project in Nevada. This significant milestone, granted by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), allows the company to expand its exploration activities significantly, increasing the allowable surface disturbance from 15 acres to 200 acres. This expansion is expected to facilitate more comprehensive exploration efforts in a region that is already buzzing with activity from major industry players.
The approval of the PoO is not merely a bureaucratic win, it represents a substantial enhancement of NevGold’s operational capabilities at Limousine Butte. The newly permitted area will enable exploration drilling and other activities across the entire project site, targeting regions previously inaccessible under earlier permits. This strategic shift is particularly timely, given that Limousine Butte is surrounded by active exploration projects from notable companies such as Freeport-McMoRan and South32.
Brandon Bonifacio, CEO of NevGold, expressed enthusiasm regarding this development, stating, “The approval of our Exploration Plan of Operations is a significant permitting milestone for Limo Butte.” He highlighted that this expansion opens numerous new areas for exploration targeting both gold and base metals, which positions the company favorably within a competitive landscape.
The Limousine Butte Project spans approximately 65 square kilometers in White Pine County, Nevada, and consists of 776 unpatented BLM claims. The project is strategically located near several other active mining operations, which could enhance its potential for resource discovery and development.
Looking ahead, NevGold plans to initiate further drilling in 2025 with a focus on extending known areas of gold mineralization at Resurrection Ridge and Cadillac Valley. Additionally, there are intentions to explore the underdeveloped base metals potential adjacent to the Butte Valley copper porphyry target. The company aims to produce a new Mineral Resource Estimate following these drilling activities.
In conjunction with this operational advancement, NevGold has announced key changes in its senior management team. Greg French has been appointed as Vice-President of Exploration. With over 30 years of experience in mineral exploration across North America, French brings a wealth of knowledge to his new role. He has been involved with NevGold since its inception as a director and is poised to lead the company’s exploration strategy during this critical phase.
Bonifacio acknowledged the contributions of outgoing VP Exploration Derick Unger, noting his instrumental role in advancing NevGold’s exploration initiatives since 2021. While Unger will transition to a new opportunity within one of the world’s largest gold producers, he will remain engaged with NevGold in an advisory capacity.
French expressed his excitement about stepping into this leadership role at such a crucial time for the company. He stated, “We are well positioned to take advantage of the current commodity market and we have the ability to rapidly advance our portfolio,” underscoring his commitment to driving forward both Nutmeg Mountain and Limousine Butte towards their respective Mineral Resource Estimates.
The recent permit approval at Limousine Butte marks a significant step forward for NevGold Corp., providing an expanded operational footprint in one of Nevada’s most promising mining districts. With strategic management changes and an ambitious exploration agenda on the horizon, NevGold is poised to capitalize on its enhanced capabilities.
