Recent announcements about new dispensaries from Trulieve Cannabis Corp. (OTCQX: TCNNF) and Curaleaf Holdings (OTCQX: CURLF) highlight this ongoing expansion in key states like Arizona and Ohio.

Trulieve is scheduled to open a new dispensary in Bisbee, Arizona. According to the company, the store will carry a wide range of in-house brands including Avenue, Co2lors, Modern Flower, Roll One, and Sweet Talk. The store will also feature products from popular partner brands, broadening consumer options under one roof. The grand opening celebration on September 12, 2025 includes events such as live music, food trucks, promotional giveaways, and medical card certifications, reflecting the company’s community engagement approach. This latest addition further extends Trulieve’s presence in Arizona, where it currently operates dispensaries in 16 cities across the state. 

Trulieve’s footprint across the U.S. has grown impressively over recent years. The company operates dozens of dispensaries in Florida alone, its strongest market, alongside multiple locations in states like Pennsylvania, Connecticut, California, and Arizona. This wide retail network provides Trulieve with a substantial share of the medical and adult-use cannabis markets. The Bisbee store signals the company’s commitment to expanding access for patients and adult consumers in emerging markets, particularly as Arizona’s recreational cannabis market develops. 

Meanwhile, Curaleaf has opened a new dispensary branded under its name in New Albany, Ohio, also set to debut on September 12, 2025. The store offers premium products curated for both medical patients and adult-use customers. This includes an assortment of Select BRIQ vapes, Grassroots flower, JAMS edibles, and Find flower, all trusted brands within Curaleaf’s portfolio. The New Albany dispensary, owned and operated by RC Retail 2 with Curaleaf providing support services, represents a partnership approach to expansion that could foster further growth subject to regulatory approvals. This will be Curaleaf’s fourth dispensary in Ohio, joining locations in Cuyahoga Falls, Lima, and Newark. 

Curaleaf’s retail network is one of the broadest in the country, now surpassing 155 dispensaries across more than 20 states. The company’s strategy blends organic store openings with acquisitions, such as the recent Illinois-based Grassroots Cannabis deal that expanded its footprint significantly. Curaleaf’s presence is strong in states with both medical and recreational cannabis laws, including Florida, Massachusetts, Arizona, Illinois, and New Jersey. The company serves over 350,000 registered patients nationally and consistently invests in educational efforts to enhance the buying experience for consumers of all experience levels. 

Together, these expansions by Trulieve and Curaleaf illustrate the dynamic nature of the cannabis retail market in the United States. Each company leverages a mixture of direct ownership and strategic partnerships to enter key markets, backed by robust product lines and branding.
