Rubicon Organics Inc. (TSXV: ROMJ, OTCQX: ROMJF), a Canadian licensed producer specializing in organic-certified and premium cannabis products, has completed the acquisition of a 47,500-square-foot indoor cultivation facility in Hope, British Columbia. This move significantly expands Rubicon’s production capabilities and supports its strategy to grow its premium cannabis offerings both domestically and internationally.
The Hope facility adds over 40% to Rubicon’s current production capacity, increasing annual output potential by up to 4,500 kilograms. This complements the company’s existing Delta Facility, bringing total annual production capacity to approximately 15,500 kilograms of premium cannabis. The acquisition not only increases volume but also enhances Rubicon’s ability to innovate and develop new products, reinforcing its position in the premium cannabis segment.
Rubicon’s CEO, Margaret Brodie, highlighted the importance of this acquisition for the company’s growth trajectory. She noted that the Hope facility will help the company scale its premium cannabis platform beyond just volume, enabling further product development and international expansion. The facility is purpose-built for indoor cultivation and equipped with advanced technology, aligning with Rubicon’s focus on quality and organic certification.
The company expects to have all cultivation rooms planted by the end of 2025, with full production capacity reached by the end of 2026. While Rubicon plans to invest approximately $3 million in operating startup costs during 2025, revenue from the Hope facility is not anticipated until the first half of 2026. The timing for licensing approval is expected sometime this summer.
Rubicon Organics operates a vertically integrated model, managing everything from cultivation to distribution. Its portfolio includes well-known brands such as Simply Bare™ Organic, 1964 Supply Co.™, Wildflower™, and Homestead Cannabis Supply™. These brands benefit from Rubicon’s proprietary genetics and award-winning products, which have helped the company build strong consumer loyalty and brand equity.
The company’s focus on certified organic and premium cannabis positions it to meet growing demand both in Canada and internationally. With certifications enabling export, Rubicon is targeting global markets where high-quality cannabis is increasingly sought after.
Rubicon recently completed a $5 million financing round, strengthening its balance sheet to support ongoing growth initiatives. The company has demonstrated consistent annual revenue growth and positive adjusted EBITDA, reflecting disciplined execution and operational efficiency.
As the Canadian cannabis market continues to consolidate and mature, Rubicon’s emphasis on premium products and innovation sets it apart from competitors. The Hope facility acquisition is a clear indicator of the company’s commitment to expanding its footprint and capitalizing on rising demand for top-tier cannabis.
With the Hope facility now part of its production base, Rubicon Organics is in a position to accelerate its premium cannabis growth strategy. The additional capacity will allow the company to increase supply, develop new products, and expand into international markets more effectively.
