Trillion Energy Launches Operations on Tripods to Enhance Gas Production

Trillion Energy International Inc. (CSE: TCF, OTCQB: TRLEF, FRA: Z62) has officially commenced operations on two tripods in the SASB gas field, marking a significant step in their ongoing velocity string tubing program. Following the successful completion of operations on the Akcakoca platform in late November 2024, the company is now focused on optimizing production from its gas wells.

This week, a crane barge arrived at the SASB gas field to facilitate the transport of a snubbing unit from the Akcakoca platform to the Akkaya tripod. The next phase involves running 2,996 meters of 2 3/8-inch tubing in the Alapli-2 well. Once this operation is completed, the crane barge will proceed to the East Ayazli tripod, where an additional 2,888 meters of tubing will be installed in the Bayhanli-2 well.

To enhance performance during installation, Trillion Energy plans to utilize three sets of burst discs in each well. This innovative approach allows for floating the tubing in the horizontal section before rupturing the discs, ensuring a smoother operation. Following the safe installation of the velocity string (VS) tubing, nitrogen stimulation activities will commence. This method has recently proven effective in revitalizing gas wells, contributing to improved production rates.

The entire operation is anticipated to take approximately two weeks, contingent upon favorable weather conditions. Throughout this period, Trillion Energy’s technical team will be onsite to monitor and optimize production processes. Currently, gas lift compressors are being sized for various wells, with South Akcakoca being prioritized.

Trillion Energy International Inc. is dedicated to oil and natural gas production primarily focused on Europe and Turkey. The company holds a 49% ownership stake in the SASB natural gas field, a key development in the Black Sea region, and maintains a 19.6% interest in the Cendere oil field (with three wells having a 9.8% interest).

The velocity string program aims to address common challenges associated with water loading in gas production wells. By installing smaller diameter tubing within existing larger tubing, Trillion Energy enhances fluid flow and boosts production efficiency. This technique has already shown promising results in previously operated wells on the Akcakoca platform, allowing for sustained production at lower wellhead pressures.

The initiation of operations on these tripods underscores Trillion Energy’s commitment to maximizing shareholder value as well as highlighting its focus on innovative solutions within a competitive energy market. By leveraging advanced technologies such as velocity strings and nitrogen stimulation, Trillion aims to significantly increase its gas output while minimizing operational costs.

As Trillion Energy continues to enhance its production capabilities, stakeholders can expect further developments that may positively impact overall performance and profitability. The company’s strategic focus on optimizing existing assets while exploring new opportunities positions it favorably within the evolving landscape of energy production.

Trillion Energy’s recent operational advancements at the SASB gas field reflect its proactive approach to addressing production challenges and enhancing efficiency through innovative techniques.
